What began as a short-term mission trip in 2004, has blossomed into a long-term relationship with the Baja, California region of Mexico. Through partnerships with Amor Ministries and Door of Faith Orphanage (DOFO), Baja Iowa has been able to send servant-hearted disciples to build homes for, and relationships with, the people of the region. Our work in the villages of La Mision, Santa Anita, and Buena Vista has allowed us to build over 40 homes during that time. More importantly, we’ve been able to grow our “familia de Baja” – our Baja family – in ways that last long after the last nail is hammered.

We build. Relationships. Homes. A passion for serving people around the world.
Our goal is to be a blessing and share the hope, love, and kindness that Jesus did to everyone we meet. In turn, we are blessed with new relationships and the incredible hospitality, love, and kindness of those we serve.
In the span of one week, we build two homes for local families. From the time the first sill plate is laid on Monday, to the dedication of the home on Friday, volunteers of all backgrounds and abilities work together with the family to turn a house into a home.
In the end, this trip is not about us, it’s about what Christ can do through is as we serve others. A number of trip participants were impacted so much by the experience they have gone on to serve in missions and ministries around the world, some of which returned to Baja to serve as staff at DOFO.
Build life-long relationships that expand our “familia” and our impact across borders, by being the hands, feet, and heart of Jesus, sharing love and hope to all we encounter.
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.
